The Color and Number Game With Food January 20, 2012

Early this week I had the fortune of seeing Dr. Sanjay Gupta on The Talk and he shared some wonderful, simple tips to get wellness in your daily life.  One in particular stood out for me.  In order to get a bounty of quality foods in your everyday diet you need to seek 7 different color foods each day……and no Skittles don’t count.  I shared this system with my kids this week, and it has been fun for the whole family.

Some of us found out that we were only getting 4-5 food colors……while others were hitting the 6-7 mark.  In an instant it became a fun challenge to see who could get the most colors from healthy choices in a day.  It has made meals, as well as snack time fun……so much better than repeating eat your fruits and veggies.  So, I wanted to share this idea just incase you missed it in hopes it can make your daily food choices more healthy, as well as enjoyable.
